Tree Day 2009-
The day after Thanksgiving we always decorate. We put up our tree- and all of the swag.
I would have to say- this year has been very fun with a 3-year-old.
We always watch Christmas movies- and make a big deal about it.
Elf is a family favorite- and O is obsessed with watching the clay characters- especially Mr. Narwhal. He wants to back it up over and over again just to see that (and the Candy Cane forest). But the best part is hearing him sing to the music.
” Every timeĀ it rain it rains
Pennies from Kevin
Don’t you know each cloud contains
Pennies from Kevin”
A nice mixture of two of his current favorite movies- Elf & Up.
Not Heaven, Kevin “the snipe”- it cracks me up. And if we sing the lines he will correct us- Kevin!
(Or ask us, “where is Doug?”)
We are teaching him about why we celebrate- and why we give gifts to show our love.
It is hard to distract him from the lights & glitz, the overload of toy commercials, and the over abundance of sugar.
If you ask O- he will tell you- Santa is bringing him Ice Age 3 for his stocking.
We will continue to teach him about the true Gift and what we believe. But for now- we are happy that he loves the magic of the season as much as we do.
